Fit & sizing

Get the fit right

How a jacket should fit, how to measure yourself and how to avoid the most common sizing mistakes.

The four-minute fitting room check

  1. Shoulders first

The shoulder seam should sit at the edge of your shoulder. It is the one thing a tailor cannot really fix.

  2. Reach forward

Stretch both arms out in front. The cuffs should still cover your wrist bones and the back should not pull tight.

  3. Try it with layers

Wear the thickest jumper or fleece you will put under it in January, not the T-shirt you wore to the shop.

  4. Check the length

A rain jacket should cover your waistband when you lift your arms. A winter coat should cover your hips at least.
