Jackets.ie is a reading site. You don't need an account, and we collect as little personal data as we can.
Who we are
Jackets.ie ("we", "us") is an independent website publishing jacket buying advice for Ireland. For anything about this policy or your data, contact [email protected].
What we collect
When you browse
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use this information to identify you. We don't currently run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
When you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your message with anyone.
Legal basis
We process technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website, and correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you.
How long we keep it
Email correspondence is kept for up to two years after our last exchange, then deleted, unless we need it longer to deal with a complaint or legal matter. Hosting logs are kept by Cloudflare for the limited periods described in its own policies.
Services we use
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, security and email routing.
Some of these services may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie.
Changes
If we add features that use personal data, such as analytics, a newsletter or affiliate links, we'll update this policy before they go live and change the date at the top.
